Position Summary
Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge and application of effective instructional aide principles, practices. and trends. Ability to appropriately handle confidential information in accordance with District policies. Ability to perform all of the essential functions of the position. Ability to organize classroom setting to efficiently accomplish assignments. Knowledge of classroom procedures, student conduct and follows safe practices in classroom activities. Demonstrated commitment to leading and supporting academic programs through quality and excellence. Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, and staff in a diverse environment. The ability to prepare instructional materials and perform a variety of routine clerical duties. Some instructional areas may require a greater degree of knowledge based on instructional programs. Assists with the instructional and related activities of the assigned learning environment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Ability to schedule activities, collect data and use program-related equipment. Strong written and oral communication skills for the purpose of conveying information to individuals while working in a diverse community college environment.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Associate degree in related field plus one (1) years of related work experience and/or experience in a teaching environment. Official transcripts are required. ***Will be subject to a criminal background check and fingerprint check.***

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides assistance with the implementation of instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of assisting the instructor in improving the students' academic success through a defined course of study. Provides assistance in the development of competency-based curriculum and other instructional materials. Maintains accurate student and other records as required by law and the Board of Trustees and Administrative Procedures Manual. Prepares and organizes lessons as directed by the instructor, administers, scores and records a variety of tests according to established guidelines. Develops and maintains professional working relationships, with students, faculty, and staff. Participates in the development of the program objectives and assist with budget planning for the respective areas. Enforce student policies. Provides students with written course expectations and evaluations. Responsible for the requisition of supplies and instructional materials as needed. Assists in job placement of job-ready students. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals from a variety of multi-cultural backgrounds. Provides excellent customer service. Performs other duties as required.

Preferred skills / additional requirements:
Working knowledge of BlackBoard or other Learning Management Systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Academic background in accounting and accounting work experience preferred
Supervisory experience a plus
