Description:

The Department of Chemistry at Clemson University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the broadly defined area of the interface of materials science and chemical biology. The position is expected to be filled at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 15, 2020.

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or related field, and will be expected to teach chemistry courses in their area(s) of expertise at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to vigorously pursue extramural research funds in order to sustain a developing research program. The potential for collaborations with groups in the Clemson University School of Materials Science and Engineering, the Department of Bioengineering, and with Prisma Health (formerly the Greenville Hospital System) provides for a rich set of opportunities for integrated research activities.

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or related field. Candidates with research interests in solid state materials, polymers, biomaterials, and chemical biology, are encouraged to apply.
