The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at Clemson University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position starting with the Fall 2020 semester. The position will be targeted toward individuals with research applications in cybersecurity with a focus on coding theory, cryptography and computational number theory, which are disciplines funded by the NSF RTG grant no. The school contains two divisions: Mathematics, and Statistics and Operations Research, and, and includes the areas of algebra and discrete mathematics, data science, computational mathematics, operations research, probability and mathematical statistics, and pure and applied analysis. An earned doctorate or equivalent is required. Candidates should have strong potential, or demonstrated capability, for effective research and teaching in the mathematical sciences. Specific desirable attributes for candidates include strong interest in: 1) collaboration with subject-matter researchers throughout the university; 2) collaboration with faculty members in the School; and 3) innovative non-traditional teaching approaches.
