Master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline. Professional work experience developing mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms. Professional work experience with two or more coding/programming languages. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must be able to demonstrate the Morton College core values of compassion, fairness, respect, responsibility, tolerance and truth.

Preferred Qualifications

College-level teaching experience, preferably at a community college. Familiarity with online instruction. Experience working with advisory committees and on curriculum and course development. A background in academic assessment at the course and/or program level. Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Job Summary

To teach mobile application development to a diverse student population. Stay abreast of ongoing developments, trends, and issues in computing as well as instruction in the community college environment. To serve on various committees, and perform other duties normally associated with teaching at a community college.

Specific Job Duties

•To instruct students in the knowledge, skills and abilities pertaining to the assigned courses.
•To consider the needs of the students, and assist them by seeking help from other college services.
•To distribute to all students a course syllabus that covers the class requirements, grading procedure, attendance requirements, and student learning outcomes.
•To inform students of educational and occupational opportunities.
•To submit midterm and final grade reports, deficiency notices, attendance records and any other reports pertaining to the assigned courses.
•To stay abreast on ongoing developments, trends and issues in computer information systems and computer science instruction at the community college.
•To work with district high school representatives on course articulation and student recruitment.
•To work with representatives from four-year institutions of higher learning to articulate our program.
•To serve on the CIS advisory committee.
•To maintain and develop CIS curriculum.
•To actively participate in assessment activities.
•To serve on College-wide committees.
•To perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Adult and Career Technical Education.
