The Lacy School of Business (LSB) at Butler University seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Data Analytics and Business Intelligence. The position starts August 2020, and the standard teaching load is nine credit hours per semester with release time available based on research productivity. Candidates should have some experience and expertise in teaching courses in technology, decision- making, and business analytics with particular emphasis on experiential delivery models. We encourage applicants from technology-related fields, as well as applicants from social and natural sciences with substantial analytics experience. Business or consulting experience is a plus. Our new-state-of-the-art building is now open. This 110,000-square-foot building houses creative learning environments that connect students to any industry. It sets a new standard for business education and business community engagement through spaces such as a state-of-the-art Investment Room, an Innovation Commons, soft spaces for students to meet, and flexible classrooms with the latest technology. Additionally, the LSB is infusing more business intelligence and data analytics into the common curricula for each degree program. The successful candidate will both teach and conduct research in these areas and will contribute to the ongoing development of the common curricula. Opportunities exist to teach in both face-to-face and online formats. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and must provide evidence that they will be excellent teachers, committed to working with a diverse population of students. They must also show that they will be productive researchers and display an interest in extensive interaction with the business community. Fully accredited by AACSB-International, the Lacy School of Business enrolls about 1,200 full-time undergraduate students and offers an MBA, a Masters in Professional Accounting and a Master of Science in Risk and Insurance.
