Job Details
Position Summary:
The Ad and Web Designer plans, implements, and maintains the websites and advertisements of A-State Global Engagement and Outreach Office in conjunction with the university creative media office.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements marketing and communication plans for Global Engagement and Outreach
- Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds
- Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as directed by the supervisor
- Develop platform/channel-appropriate content, including the production of written stories, videos, photo essays and more
- Compose written material for diverse audiences, across a variety of channels including web, social, email
- Helps to ensure the overall success and growth of Arkansas State University by performing all other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrable skills with a strong professional portfolio
Proficiency in common industry applications and graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and other visual design tools
Proven ability to work effectively both independently and exercise initiative, as well as be part of a team in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and time management skills including ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines, work effectively in a dynamic environment with multiple and sometimes overlapping priorities, and consistently meet deadlines
Knowledge of the web, technology, social platforms, current and future trends
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills including ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals
General Days/Hours:
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance
Other:
Good understanding of content management systems, marketing, production, advertisements, and multimedia design
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in multimedia or design preferred, must be in a related field
One (1) - three (3) years' experience in design, preferably in higher education

Arkansas State, founded in 1909, is the second-largest university in the state. It is located on Crowley’s Ridge in Jonesboro, the largest city in eastern Arkansas and the economic hub of the region. While it does not award degrees, the Honors College is a component of the university’s academic structure. The Department of Military Science provides programs for students who aspire to be U.S. Army officers.

The Arkansas State University System is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees appointed by the Governor of Arkansas to serve staggered seven-year terms. The trustees hire the system president, approve the curriculum, annually approve an operating budget, and establish policies for the efficient and effective operation of the institutions.
