Seattle Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine have an outstanding opportunity for a full-time academic Orthopaedic Surgeon to work with pediatric neuromuscular and trauma patients. This position includes an academic appointment in the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor level (without tenure due to funding).
Clinical responsibilities include participation in the pediatric orthopaedic and rehabilitation program, assisting with general pediatric orthpaedics and pediatric orthopaedic trauma. The position has a 12-month service period with an anticipated start date in 2020. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent), be board certified (or board eligible) in Orthopaedic Surgery and have completed a fellowship (or foreign equivalent) in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
