Ph.D. in Chemistry, strongly prefer broad training in both inorganic and geochemistry; a strong interest in teaching excellence. ABD candidates will also be considered.

PreferredPrimary Responsibilities

Teach 12 semester credit hours per semester. Courses will include, but not be limited to, Introductory Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Geochemistry courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Delivery of courses will be through face to face as well as distance delivery. Candidates are encouraged to establish an externally funded research program involving undergraduate and graduate students, as well as participate in professional development, and university and community service. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.

The Department of Biology, Geology, and Physical Sciences offers BS and MS degrees in biology and geology, and a BS degree in chemistry. The graduate programs in Biology and Geology enrolls approximately thirty students, primarily thesis seeking. Davis Mountain State Park, Fort Davis National Historic Site, Big Bend National Park and Guadalupe National Park are all within one to three hours’ driving distance from Alpine.
