The College of Nursing and Health Sciences seeks applicants for a limited term, non-tenure track faculty position in the School of Health Sciences. Position will have faculty rank of Lecturer.

Reporting directly to the Interim Associate Dean of the School of Health Sciences, responsibilities include teaching a variety of courses within an exercise physiology program at the undergraduate and graduate level. Additional duties include student mentoring and committee service at the college and university level.

Required Qualifications

Masters’ Degree plus 18 hours at the doctoral level in exercise science/physiology or closely related field of study by hire date.

Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship. Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in exercise science/physiology or closely related area. Broad teaching experience within Exercise Science curricula and NSCA or ACSM certification. Interest and expertise in strength and conditioning.

Position Requires completion of VSU’s Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker’s Compensation.

Position Requires a Criminal Background Check.

Position May Require Credit Check (if using P-Card, working with Cash, etc.).
