Applications are invited for a highlymotivated post-doctoral research fellow/associate to join the Lung Fibrosis andRegeneration Program at the Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine(Department of Medicine, CU Denver). The successful candidate with join theprogram headed by Melanie Koenigshoff, MD, PhD and will conduct cutting-edge researchwith a focus on the role of extracellular vesicles in epithelial-mesenchymalcrosstalk in pulmonary fibrosis.

 

This position will focus on the study of extracellular vesiclesignaling in lung fibrosis. Candidates should have expertise in the fields of extracellularvesicle research, general advanced molecular and cellular biology, primary cellcultures including (live)-imaging techniques, and animal models.. The projectinvolves the investigation of human lung tissue samples, animalexperimentation, and extensive studies with 2D and 3D cell and tissue cultures.Suitable candidates are required to have a demonstrated research productivityand ability to work with colleagues in collaborative interactions. Priorexpertise in extracellular vesicle research and animal experimentation is highlydesired. The laboratory has extensive expertise in translational research inlung fibrosis and regeneration, animal models, advanced cell and tissue cultureapproaches, among others. Theposition will assist with training of junior investigators, students andfellows, and research assistants.

 

Key Requirements include: Expertise in the fields of extracellular vesicleresearch is required. Advance knowledge about molecular and cellular biology, 3Dcell cultures and animal experimentation. The project involves studies usinghuman lung tissue samples and extensive studies with primary cell culturemodels.


Supervision Received:  Thisperson will be under the direct supervision of the principal investigator.


Supervision Exercised:  Thisposition will assist with the training of junior investigators students and fellows,and research assistants.


Salary andBenefits: The hiring salary isnegotiable and commensurate with skills and experience.  This position is not eligible for overtimecompensation.

Qualifications
