Undergraduate Medical Education has an opening for a full-time, University Staff (unclassified) Longitudinal Curriculum Coordinator (Business Services Intermediate Professional) position. The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus ranks among the top institutions nationally in clinical care, education and research. Nature of Work:This position will work closely with Curriculum Directors in the planning, coordination, and administration of the University of Colorado School of Medicine (CUSOM) Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) Mentored Scholarly Activity (MSA) Program and the Research Track. This will include academic and business operational responsibilities, soliciting funds to support the Research Track, managing financial affairs related to student stipends and procurement transactions, developing guidelines and procedures, tracking student completion of requirements, maintaining program information, abstracting/organizing data for curriculum reports, maintaining curricular website content, and providing information and guidance to faculty and students about these programs. This position will contribute to the ongoing development, analysis and evaluation of existing and proposed processes to develop and track curriculum for Undergraduate Medical Education. Additionally, this position will work collaboratively with other staff members in the UME Office.

Examples of Work Performed:
Mentored Scholarly Activity (MSA) Program – 45%: Coordinate all aspects of the CUSOM UME Mentored Scholarly Activity (MSA) program, including supporting MSA Director and Associate Directors, manage MSA curriculum completion and delivery, and serve as the first point of contact for all student communication.Develop, implement, and track MSA courses and requirement completion by 700+ CUSOM students through the University’s Learning Management System (Canvas)Work with numerous stakeholders including students, faculty, and other course directors/coordinators to schedule MSA curriculum activities, sessions, and events.Enter curricular sessions and materials into the curriculum management system (iLios).Coordinate enrollment, tracking, grading, and completion of MSA electivesMaintain and enhance as needed, accurate records for all important MSA communicationProvide student services to 700+ CUSOM students including serving as the first point of contact for all MSA student communication, scheduling curriculum sessions and activities, and scheduling Director & Associate Director Office HoursFacilitate weekly meetings with MSA Director and Associate Directors, including keeping accurate meeting minutes and following up on action itemsMaintain and update MSA website content as neededWith oversite from the MSA Directors, this position will provide process improvement support for the MSA projects and programs. This will include analyzing current program processes and procedures.Manage and maintain MSA department contact list and project outreachTake the lead role on planning, organizing and overseeing the annual Capstone Event including scheduling space and scheduling poster sessions and assignments for the Phase IV student body. Duties include: sending reminders and collecting student data, recruiting faculty to help judge the student projects during the event, recruiting volunteers to help with set-up, take-down, and assistance during Capstone, matching faculty and student judges to the posters for scoring during the event, as well as set up the scoring survey for all the judges to score the presenters.UME Business Administration – 10%:Oversee, approve and track student procurement card transactions related to purchase and travel. Review and approve purchases in CU Marketplace. Manage, administer and track student stipends. Create and develop processes to track and maintain stipends.  Utilize HCM to manage student hires and to process and pay stipends. Manage student speedtypes, position numbers and funding codes. This position will work closely with the UME Finance & HR Specialist regarding procurement processes. Review and analyze information regarding student reimbursement issues, and develop solutions to prevent ongoing issues.Prioritizes workload to accommodate last minute requests and demands made by the Education Program Specialist and the Assistant Dean of Integrated Curriculum. Works as a team member within the Curriculum Office to further the betterment of the medical education program.  Upon request, will offer cross-coverage and temporary support to other positions in the Curriculum team during high-volume periods.In the event that the Educational Program Specialist or Assistant Dean of Integrated Curriculum approaches this incumbent with an urgent task, the incumbent must be able to prioritize their immediate workload to ensure the completion of the task.  Perform other duties as assigned.Research Track – 45%:Coordinate all aspects of the CUSOM UME Research Track program, including supporting the Research Track Director, manage Research Track curriculum completion and delivery, and serve as the first point of contact for all student communication. Analyze and review current Research Track processes to determine, design and implement, with the Directors approval, program improvements. Solicit funds for the Research Track by reaching out the SOM Department Chairs, DFA’s, and centers.  Annually verifies committed funds from SOM Department Chairs and DFA’sEnsures the proper department funds are allocated to the correct Research Track studentResponsible for cross-departmental PET’s, Journal Entries, and allocation of fundingReconciles all Research Track funding, and maintains the Research Track budgetMeet regularly with Research Track Director to review, analyze and ensure Research Track program needs are being met. Create new innovative ways to manage the Research Track programs, which includes designing and implementing improvement plans, processes and procedures. Create detailed work plans sequencing actives needed to successfully improvement processes. Develop, implement, and track Research Track courses and requirement completion for 80+ Research Track students through the University’s Learning Management System (Canvas)Provide student services to 80+ Research Track students including serving as the first point of contact for all Research Track student communication, scheduling curriculum sessions, and activities.Facilitate application process for new matriculating students interested in the Research Track.Facilitate funding for and delivery of Research Forum Awards including, soliciting Department commitments from previous award funders and submitting paperwork for up to 35 Award winners.Assist the Research Director to obtain funding support commitments for future students.Manage and coordinate CUSOM Department funding sources, maintaining accurate funding records for each student.Take the lead role on planning, organizing and overseeing the Anschutz Medical Campus-wide Annual Student Research Poster Forum including scheduling space and scheduling poster sessions and assignments for 90 presenters from multiple schools across campus, 80+ faculty judges, and 350+ student judges. Schedule travel for multiple conferences, including conference registrations, air travel, per diems, and \\ reimbursement processing.Assist Research Track Director to coordinate tracking, grading, and completion of Research Track electives.Maintain and update the Research Track website content and data as needed.Administer, manage and process Research Track student hiring paperwork (i.e., I-9, background check, etc.)Process and track student stipends. Salary and Benefits:The hiring range for this position has been established at $42,500 to $55,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in education or in a business related field from an accredited institution.1-2 years of professional experience with program creation, implementation and/or managementSubstitution: A combination of education and professional work experience related to this position may substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis (ex. an Associate’s degree in a related field and 2 years of related professional experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree).
