Job Summary: The HR Specialist provides professional human resource services in support of a division or college.
Additional Department Summary: The HR Specialist serves as a liaison between the College of Continuing Studies (CCS) and UA Human Resources in all aspects of the employment life cycle employee relations including recruitment, retention, performance evaluation, discipline, benefits, compensation, and professional development.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of experience working in a human resources department.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, in both written and oral communications. Ability to think and plan strategically as part of a team. Ability to clearly convey messages through written as well as in group settings. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks are essential. The ability to work with a diverse population. Experience working in a highly confidential, fast-paced environment with multiple shifting priorities. Strong customer service orientation skills. Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Excellent hands-on computer experience, building presentations, creating and using spreadsheets and advanced knowledge of other Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience; OR Master's degree and one (1) year of related experience.
Preference to candidates who have experience working with UA’s HR systems (e.g., faculty and staff hiring systems).
