HIRING RANGE: $22.13-$26.04 per hour based on experience.
Pay Grade: C3

Job Summary

Assist the Human Resources department in researching, recommending, and technical support for HR systems. Provide personnel support for the functions within the department.

Essential Functions

Understand and operate in databases, applications and software systems and assist the Human Resources staff in creating efficiencies within those systems. Compile reports using multiple software platforms.

Support technology initiatives for the Human Resources department within a project management environment and assist in creating appropriate communication and training.

Use HR systems to support the employment process: create job postings; place advertisements with internal and external sources; assist applicants with questions regarding the application system; record and compile EEO and hiring data; prepare screening materials for supervisors; maintain job files and data.

Process employment actions submitted for regular employees; enter data for regular employees into the personnel information system by selecting appropriate data and information from employment authorization form. Figure annual salary and daily rates for new contracts/employment agreements; determine appropriate contract type; create and proof contracts/ agreements.

Initiate and track new employee onboarding process including online new employee orientation, supervisor communication, and organizational chart.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Three years of recent personnel, payroll, administrative assistance, or related clerical experience which include record keeping, data entry, and word processing. (Postsecondary education in any field may substitute for up to one year of the required experience. 15 semester hours are equivalent to 6 months of experience.)

Experience and aptitude with electronic personnel and/or application systems and the ability to troubleshoot solutions.

Demonstrated proficiency with technology, including experience with databases and software applications.

Strong communication skills, with attention to customer service values.

Attentive to confidentiality related to working in a human resource environment.

Ability to plan, organize and manage time with attention to detail and accuracy.

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional and customer focused working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.

Desired Qualifications

Associate’s degree or higher.

Three years of experience performing Human Resources functions.

Personnel and/or payroll experience within an educational institution.

Experience with databases in an educational institution.

Adeptness in learning software applications.

Project management experience.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, day hours.
