Description:

The Department of Diagnostic Medicine at Dell Medical School invites applications for a Clinical Investigator in Radiology. We are seeking an accomplished MD or MD/PhD with board certification in radiology and/or one of its subspecialties. The successful candidate will have established research endeavors and experience with clinical practice. This position will be a joint hire with our clinical partner, Austin Radiological Association, and will involve a component of clinical radiology work. Candidates must be eligible for a faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Diagnostic Medicine at Dell Medical School on the tenure track, however competitive candidates will be eligible for a tenured faculty appointment as Associate Professor.

Dell Medical School’s Department of Diagnostic Medicine is a unique medical school department in that it incorporates pathology and radiology into a program focused not only on these traditional specialties, but the broad discipline of diagnostic medicine. The department operates in partnership with local clinical practices and community physicians to redefine how diagnostic testing is designed, delivered and leveraged to improve health.


Qualifications:
  • MD or MD and PhD board certified in the clinical specialty of radiology
  • A history as a successful clinician and researcher in radiology
  • Eligible for Texas Clinical licensure
  • Eligible for appointment with UT Austin
  • Competitive candidates will be eligible for a tenured appointment as Associate Professor
  • Substantial record of leadership and achievement in academic medicine including sustained acquisition and participation in funded research
  • Clear mentorship skills, interest and experience
  • Experience in leading large-scale research programs
