Serve as primary compliance contact for assigned sport teams and administrative units within the athletics department. Provide rules interpretations regarding NCAA and ACC legislation and University policies on a daily basis to coaches, staff, athletics departmental offices, student-athletes, and other entities that are responsible for compliance with NCAA rules. Monitor assigned bylaws for all sports. Investigate and file NCAA violations. Compile and draft waivers for submission to the NCAA and/or ACC Conference; and provide overall support for the Institution’s Athletics compliance program and processes.
Manage Department’s Elite Student Athlete Program. Continually monitor, audit, evaluate, and seek to improve elite student athlete education and monitoring systems. Educate and monitor identified prospective student athletes, as well as current student athletes, on matters that pose risks to elite student athletes (e.g. amateurism) and other hot topics and best practices.
Continually monitor, audit, evaluate, and seek to improve compliance systems and those who utilize them to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Collect, monitor, and ensure completion of assigned NCAA and ACC reports, University required forms and completion of compliance related paperwork by student-athletes prior to any participation.
Assists in the direction and development of the office’s overall compliance rules education program for assigned internal and external constituents.
Review and monitor all camps and clinics operations and advertisements in conjunction with the athletics business office. Assist with oversight of graduate assistant duties and provide regular performance feedback. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four years' experience, or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.
Requires experience having served in a full-time compliance role at a Division I institution, Division I conference, or with the NCAA.
Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects/events to meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Must have a working knowledge of Atlantic Coast Conference and NCAA rules.Pay Plan This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.Schedule Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.Criminal Background Check This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
