Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing technical duties in the maintenance of campus/instructional site grounds.

Responsibilities  

  • Mows grass and trims weeds Edges sidewalks and natural areas Operates a leaf blower on sidewalks, parking lots, tennis courts, pavilions, and fitness trail Collects trash and debris Applies herbicides Maintains grounds maintenance equipment Prunes trees and shrubs Plants flowers and maintains flower beds Places pine straw Sets up and removes tables and chairs for special events
  • This role may be designed by the institution as a Position of Trust, and managers will inform employees if this designation pertains to them
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma
• 1 -2 years of related expereince
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

Proposed Salary

$26,000 annually

  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance principles and practices Knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of grounds maintenance equipment Skill in the operation of assigned vehicles and equipment Skill in the analysis of problems and the implementation of solutions Skill in oral and written communication
