Detailed Description:
The Community Outreach and MSRE Recruitment Manager (Manager) is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating overall recruiting and outreach efforts for the Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) program. This will occur through active industry involvement with real estate trade associations and companies with real estate focus. The Manager oversees the initial outreach and communication process, maintains correspondence with prospective and admitted students, and continues to assist students throughout the program to ensure that they will have a positive experience. The position works closely with the Center's Executive Director and Associate Director for Real Estate Student and Career Services, the MSRE Faculty Advisor as well as the School's Graduate Admissions and Recruiting and Graduate Student Services teams to enhance student experience and to ensure the overall success of the MSRE program, both in terms of quantity and quality of applicants. The position assists with the marketing and promotion of the MSRE program and oversees MSRE student-focused events. The position ensures overall productivity and success of MSRE recruitment. Domestic and international travel will be required as will the need to occasionally work evenings and weekends. This position receives supervision from the Executive Director, Burnham-Moores Center. Receives direction from MSRE Faculty Advisor. Collaborates with Senior Director of Graduate Business Recruiting and Admission and Director of Graduate Business Student Services. This position gives direction to the Administrative Assistant II of the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate as it relates to support for the MSRE program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As the point-person for the outreach and recruiting efforts of the MSRE program, perform the following tasks:
  • Review promotional strategy and make improvements based on data compiled from students inquiring and applying to the program
  • Organize and execute informational sessions for the MSRE program
  • Work with the MSRE and BMC stakeholder groups and attend real estate-related events to promote the MSRE program
  • Represent the MSRE program at on- and off-campus activities
  • Respond to inquiries about the MSRE program
  • Design and manage systems to track prospective students and identify meaningful ways to maintain relationships with prospective students
  • Refer any prospects who are interested in other School of Business Graduate Programs to the Graduate Business Recruiting and Admissions team
  • Participate in School of Business graduate recruitment programs and events
  • Provide feedback to the BMC Marketing Director and the School's Director of Marketing and Communications regarding MSRE recruiting materials, including brochures and the website.
  • Domestic and international travel required up to 20% of time.

  • Services designed to meet the needs of MSRE students, including but not limited to:
  • Coordinate with the Graduate Business Student Services team to facilitate the registration, enrollment and orientation of students, including the on-boarding process and to support the planning and implementation of MSRE 500.
  • Introduce students to their academic advisor and the Graduate Business Student Services team.
  • Coordinate with the Graduate Business Student Services team to facilitate planning and implementation of student activities
  • As requested by MSRE Faculty Advisor or BMC Executive Director, communicate with and update all MSRE students via classroom announcements, correspondence, and email
  • Oversee MSRE specific activities of the graduation ceremony in collaboration with Graduate Business Student Services team
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Services for the Admissions Process
  • Review applications and conduct admissions interviews
  • Act as a resource to applicants as they complete the admission processes
  • Provide recommendations to the Graduate Business Recruiting and Admissions team and the MSRE Faculty Advisor, in the application review and the admissions process.
  • Provide input to the MSRE Faculty Advisor in determining the strategic allocation of scholarship funds
  • Assist with data collection and reporting
  • Receives direction from the Senior Director of Graduate Recruiting and Admissions regarding any changes to the application process
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Support the overall productivity and success of academic real estate programs:
  • Collaborate with other BMC staff, including the Associate Director for Real Estate Student and Career Services and the Alumni and Scholarship Services Manager, to ensure the overall success of real estate programs
  • Provide budgeting and financial planning assistance to the MSRE Faculty Advisor, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

    Job Requirements:
    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelors degree and at least four years of work experience in higher education or relevant industry or a Masters degree and two years of work experience in higher ed or relevant industry

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will have a post-graduate degree, four or more years of work experience in higher education or relevant industry.
  • The position requires a customer-focused personality, high energy, and ability to interact with students, faculty and staff, and alumni.

  • Self-starter, strong sense of initiative and accountability
  • Positive attitude, outgoing personality, comfortable working with industry executives from junior to senior levels
  • Experience with program planning/administration
  • Excellent interpersonal, counseling and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong verbal/writing/computer skills especially in web-based technology

    Special Conditions of Employment:
    Domestic and international travel will be required as will the need to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
