Job Details
- Designingmethods to validate data to ensure high quality product; exploring creativeapproach to using data based on technical expertise of available data; and distributingreports to applicable agencies, researchers, management and other internalend-users and providing interpretations of data when needed (e.g.,designing/updating quality assurance queries to identify data discrepancies andto ensure data is complete and accurate; testing the Common and CoalitionApplication questions and data fields; and continually monitoring Common andCoalition Application data transfer to Slate (UGA’s CRM) and verifying andupdating source formats).
- Developingand producing dashboards, key performance indicators, and other recognizedmetrics used to monitor and report organizational performance. Collecting andanalyzing metric data.
- Collecting,managing and cleaning datasets using an extraction and reporting programminglanguage to ensure data integrity (e.g., managing the transfer of data fromSlate to PeopleSoft; uploading test scores (ACT, SAT, TOEFL) to Slate andPeopleSoft; consolidating records in Slate; adding/updating organizationrecords; adding/updating missing or incorrect school codes and dates ofattendance; adding/updating missing or incorrect data (gpa, class rank, classsize); designing/updating docket queries and producing dockets; querying forand providing accurate lists and data to university partners; postingdecisions, posting ratings, test scores, education data and recruitmentcategories to PeopleSoft; adding college fairs to Slate and supporting dataentry projects as they arise; analyzing and proofreading address data andserving on the team that produces admitted student mailings; running queries,conducting background research, processing and adding required documents toapplication files, and overall serving on the team responsible for day-to-dayadmission operations).
- Researchingand reconciling data discrepancies occurring among various information systems (e.g.,adding/updating PeopleSoft organization data and synching with Slateorganization dataset; designing varying methods of identifying datadiscrepancies and efficient methods of reconciling data; and reviewing andanalyzing midyear and final transcripts).
- Collaboratingwith data managers to define and implement data standards and common dataelements for data collection.
- Identifyingnew sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, andreporting.

- Bachelor’sdegree or a combination of education and relevant experience. Experience inquantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics or engineering.
- Basicknowledge and demonstrated experience using and applying analytical software,database management system software, database reporting software, database userinterface and query software, and data mining software.
- Abilityto collect data using a variety of methods, such as data mining and hardcopy orelectronic documentation study, to improve or expand database.
- Stronglistening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Abilityto manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highlyorganized, flexible and rigorous attention to detail.
- Abilityto use logic to calculate data; efficiently construct a database or scrutinizethe form of a question.
- Abilityto work with data of varying levels of quality and validity.
- Demonstratedability to produce data in a clear and understandable manner meeting userrequirements.
- Abilityto work effectively with multiple internal and external customers.
