    Painter & General Maintenance Facilities

    St. Edward's University is looking for a detailed orientated Painter and General Maintenance professional. The incumbent will need to have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to repair, paint interior and exterior walls, woodwork, fixtures and other components of university structures, and perform general maintenance duties.

    For consideration, a High school diploma or GED required. Three years professional experience as a painter with verifiable local references. Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of finish materials appropriate for different applications. Must be capable of identifying paint and woodwork finishes and matching colors and sheens. Demonstrate a general knowledge of building maintenance. Proven ability to prioritize work requests and work with minimum supervision. Must be available for emergency on-call duty on a periodic schedule. Able to speak, read and write the English language; possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with university staff and students. Proven ability to comply with safety policies, workplace guidelines, and attendance requirements. Must have a valid Texas driver's license, good driving record, and be insurable by University carrier. Must possess an unencumbered license and the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
