    Associate Director of Development

    St. Edward's University is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Associate Director of Development to join our team. The Associate Director of Development plans, implements and manages strategies for cultivation, solicitation and closure of major gifts from alumni, parents and corporations. The incumbent will be responsible for building a donor pipeline through discovery and qualification, and for managing a portfolio of major gift prospects with annual goals for activity and results. Work in concert with other gift officers, volunteers, key administrators including academic deans, faculty, and program directors in advancing the university's strategic fundraising priorities. This position will report to the Associate Vice President for Development and will work closely with all of the Office of University Advancement divisions including; Development and Alumni Relations, Constituent Relations, and Advancement Operations.

    For consideration, a Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Proven track record of securing philanthropic support with a minimum of three to five years of fundraising experience that includes responsibilities for building relationships with individuals, foundations and corporations; or five years of alumni relations, annual giving or other higher education advancement experience. Ability to participate in a collaborative environment and facilitate relationships with all areas of the University community. Understanding and appreciation for private higher education, especially Catholic higher education preferred. Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills, including the political acumen needed to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies. Well-developed organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple and complex tasks and projects concurrently. Fluency in Spanish preferred. Out of town travel required. Must possess an unencumbered driver's license and the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
