Academic Program Professional 2🔍School of Medicine, Stanford, California, United States📁Administration📅Nov 06, 2019 Post Date📅84632 Requisition #The Cardiovascular Institute at Stanford University is seeking a Scientific Education& Outreach Program Coordinator (Academic Program Professional 2) to workunder the general direction of the CVI management and/or faculty to develop,implement, and administer the vision, strategy, and goals of the assignedacademic entity/program(s), and to participate in entity/program strategydevelopment, long-range planning, and partnership development.


Duties include:

  • Teach and/or assist in the teaching andadministration of courses. Develop curriculum. Develop curriculum-ratingsurvey, detailed feedback on courses and make recommendations for preliminaryoverview and changes.
  • Facilitatescientific outreach to the greater scientific and lay communities.
  • Lead and facilitate CVI diversity and inclusioninitiatives.
  • Identifyappropriate funding opportunities for our research and educational mission.
  • Organizeand prepare faculty and postdoctoral fellowship grant applications.
  • Serve asliaison to funding agencies, as well as to collaborating faculty within Stanford University.
  • Develop,implement, administer, and evaluate programs, including outreach to variedstakeholders by: conducting research activities within the program; analyzingdata, creating reports, reviewing trends, and making program improvementrecommendations. May develop or contribute to outreach strategy related toprogram communications, development, partnerships, and fundraising/funding.
  • Coach andmentor program staff.

DESIREDQUALIFICATIONS:

PhD degree and three or more yearsof relevant experience. Experience with developing curriculum.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelor's degree and three or more years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs. For jobs with financial responsibilities, experience managing a budget and developing financial plans.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.
  • Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.
  • Ability to oversee and direct staff.
  • Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans.

  • CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
    • For teaching jobs, advanced degree or certificationmay be required for some programs.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Occasionally use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
  • Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.
  • Ability to use voice to present information/communicate with others.
  • On-campus mobility.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • May work extended hours, evenings or weekends.
