Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

The Student Service Professional will be responsible for doing workshops for students on the new ETD system for electronic and dissertations; Overseeing the Double Dawgs program for graduate programs. Assisting and filling in for the Director and Associate Director of Student Services.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

The ability to learn how to use unfamiliar applications quickly is a plus. Knowledge of Graduate School policies and procedures and experience working with UGA student records systems is desired. Excellent communication skills.

Duties/Responsibilities

Lead Electronic Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) administrator – This position will become the lead for assisting students with submitting ETDs. In addition to meeting with students one-on-one, this person will also offer 2-4 workshops each year on ETD formatting. This person will create the content for the workshop, manage the workshops and handle all aspects in regards to the workshops. The Graduate School will transition to a new ETD site in the fall.

Double Dawgs Primary Contact – This position will assist with the reviewing of new program proposals for Double Dawgs and be assigned to approve or deny new proposals on behalf of the Graduate School. In addition, this person will begin attending bi-weekly meetings in the fall with other campus administrators. This person will assist with the manual processing of changing course levels that is currently required for Double Dawgs students

Communications assistance – This position will assist with improving communication within the Graduate School and across campus. This position will assist with the management of the graduate student listserv in addition to the graduate coordinator assistants listserv. This position will help develop a deadlines calendar and competitions calendar for departments. This position will finalize the electronic bulletin and be responsible for updating content each year.

Training and Workshops – This position will be the lead for preparing and offering workshops for graduate coordinator assistants. Workshops on current forms and policies will be developed as well as offering training for new systems. Content 7 is a new system that will be offered in the fall and will require training sessions for over 100 users.

Graduate Admissions processing assistance – This person will be trained to assist Graduate Admissions during peak processing times.
