UHealth IT has an amazing opportunity for a Web/Mobile Development Engineer who will be a part of the Mobile/Web development team working on developing patient portal that integrates with Epic EMR. The Mobile Development Engineer will participate in the daily huddle with the development team and work towards quarterly releases that are tied with Epic upgrades. The Mobile Development Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining the in-house knowledge of the mobile application architecture and all the relevant tools that will be utilized for this patient portal. This person will be owning the quarterly deployment of the app to both Apple’s AppStore and Google PlayStore. This person will work closely with the API team during the design and development of the required services needed for this patient portal.
The primary responsibilities are as follow:
Work with the Marketing & Clinical operations teams to understand the requirements.
Work closely with web development firm to maintain in-house knowledge of the application and the tools/technology that are used.
Use Github or similar code repository tools for versioning of all the code changes.
Work with the API team to understand Epic EMR’s APIs and Epic provided libraries needed for the development of the App.
Designs, builds, and maintains websites using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media.
Provides technical expertise in front- and back-end web development.
Supports web infrastructure by providing end-user support, applications maintenance, product evaluation, back-end development, and internal management tools.
Interprets website design in a creative contemporary style.
Writes, designs, and edits webpage content and directs others producing content.
Analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.
Creates web models or prototypes, including physical, interface, logical or data models.
Incorporates technical considerations into website design plans, such as budgets, equipment, performance requirements, and legal issues.
Researches, documents, rates, and selects alternatives for web architecture or technologies.
Selects programming languages, design tools, and applications.
Develops website maps, application models, and image and page templates that meet project goals, user needs, and industry standards.
Develops system interaction or sequence diagrams.
Provides clear, detailed descriptions of website specifications, such as product features, activities, communication protocols, programming languages, and operating systems’ software and hardware.
Ensures a high quality and consistent look and feel across multiple devices and browsers.
Participates in efforts to improve the overall web development and delivery process.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology of related field required.
Certification and Licensing:
3 or more years of work experience in healthcare environment.
2 or more years Programming/System Engineering experience.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
