Description of Position

Position is open until filled with a first application review date of September 17, 2019
Hiring Range: $14.00-$15.50
Typical working hours for this position are 4pm-8pm Monday-Thursday and occasional Saturdays


Provides reference assistance to students, faculty, staff and the general public; May serve as the lead staff member in the absence of a library manager to direct work flow, explain or interpret library policies and resolve customer issues; Assists in development of learning tools (on-line tutorials, guides, etc.) to meet the needs of learners; Participates in library outreach activities. Participates in collection development; Other duties as assigned such as opening and closing the building.

Informational: Performs in-person and phone reference services, participates in collection development and weeding.

Technical: Assists and supports computer users with the Public Access Catalog, on-line databases, Internet and computer lab applications, performs circulation desk duties when back-up support is necessary, carries out duties in support of Technical Services.

Minimum Expectations & Requirements

- Bachelor's degree and two years library experience OR Masters Degree (any field)
- Strong computer and internet skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to problem solve
- Strong customer service skills and strong work ethic

Preferred Skills & Abilities

- Master's of Library Science
- Community College Library Experience
- Work experience in a community college/higher education environment.
