Position Summary

Job Summary
The digital marketing manager, reporting to the director of design and digital marketing, is responsible for enhancing Susquehanna University’s brand awareness within the digital space.

Driving website traffic and growing social media engagement, the manager leads digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution, targeting current students, faculty and staff, alumni, parents and prospective students.

Specific Responsibilities
Primary areas of responsibility include:
•Manage the university’s website, portal, app, e-newsletters and other official digital platforms, including design updates, as well as collaborate with departments to help ensure content objectives are met and sites are designed for accessibility and usability.
•Develop, evaluate and oversee the implementation of user testing and A/B testing protocols and procedures. Build user journeys. Optimize web and social media for SEO.
•Contribute to content planning and creation, digital storytelling, and related strategies in conjunction with Marketing and Communications staff and other departments.
•Develop a website plan to drive online traffic to achieve goals and exceed benchmarks.
•Manage university social media strategy across digital channels to grow engagement and amplification through advocacy and other efforts.
•Plan and manage digital marketing campaigns through organic and paid advertising with ROI engagement.
•Monitor, measure and regularly report on the performance metrics of all digital marketing. Use analytics to extract value; advise on optimizing content and design; and revise marketing tactics for success.
•Identify and evaluate new digital technologies to keep the university at the forefront.
•Coordinate budgetary control for digital marketing, web development and advertising.
•Manage vendor relationships for digital marketing resources.
•Serve as a liaison with the Office of Information Technology.
•Serve as essential staff member for crisis management.

Required Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience
At least three years of relevant experience with digital marketing, including e-marketing, social media, and/or web communications. Expertise with results-oriented communications. Experience with optimizing landing pages (SEO) and user funnels as well as setting up and optimizing Google Ads and/or social media ads.

•Focused ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
•Technical ability to utilize software systems, such as web content management, project management and photo management.
•Solid knowledge of website analytics tools.
•Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript development and constraints.
•Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop)
•Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills — listening and understanding. Command of the English language including meaning and spelling of words; and rules of composition and grammar.
•Detail oriented and accuracy driven.

Physical Demand
Position requires the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time, and the ability to move about the campus. Position requires the ability to talk and to hear instruction, and use a computer effectively. Position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds. Working conditions are most often indoors.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience
Experience with Ingeniux content management system is a plus.
