Adjunct faculty are part-time (classroom or on-line) faculty hired to teach on a semester basis.
Current need is for online/virtual instructors.

Classification DescriptionList the broad major functions of the position.

Provides academic instruction and student academic support for assigned classes. Performs tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction.

Adjunct faculty must develop instructional methods for their assigned course(s). The instructional methods must pertain to the course(s) learning outcomes and course catalog description.

Minimum Qualifications

Required for Fitness Courses:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related degree and a current nationally recognized fitness or wellness-related certification.

Required for Aquatics:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related degree and current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification.

Required for Water Aerobics/Exercise:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related degree and current Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) certification.

Required for Yoga:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related degree and current nationally recognized Yoga certification.

Required for Tai Chi:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related degree and currently at an assistant instructor level from a certifying Tai Chi school and/or nationally recognized Tai Chi certification.

Required for Pilates:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related degree and current nationally recognized Pilates certification.

Required for Living Fit and Well, Exercise and Stress Management and Exercise, Nutrition and Weight Management:
Master’s degree in Physical Education, Health or related degree.

Qualifications: Preferred Experience

Master’s degree in Physical Education, Health or related degree preferred with appropriate certifications stated above and previous secondary or higher education teaching experience (minimum one year).

Experience working with diverse student populations preferred.

PA Act 15 Clearances
As a requirement for this position, you are expected to provide current copies of the following: Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check prior to your first day of employment. These must have been obtained within the last 60 months and for the purpose of employment (not volunteer). You may submit current copies of your clearances to the Office of Human Resources at the time an offer of employment is made.
