Description:

The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, School of Medicine is expanding its cardiac ICUs and is recruiting two full-time cardiologists to practice primarily in the UW Medical Center Coronary Care unit. The CCU at UWMC provides complex cardiac care to the entire spectrum of congenital and acquired heart disease with quaternary care programs in electrophysiology, heart failure and transplant, advanced imaging, structural heart and adult congenital heart disease. This growing and dynamic program performed over 80 cardiac transplants and 800 cardiac surgeries in 2018-19.

The successful applicant will be appointed to the full-time (100% FTE) faculty at the University of Washington at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (without tenure due to funding) level commensurate with experience.

The successful applicant will engage in patient care, scholarship and medical education.

The successful applicant will be expected to take advantage of the outstanding opportunities for collaboration at the University of Washington.

This position has an annual service period of 12 months (July 1 – June 30). Anticipated start date is February 1, 2020. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.


Qualifications:

Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified in cardiovascular disease and echocardiography (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an academic track record with publications.
