Provides technical support for the operations of the Office of Sponsored Research Administration, with the goal to support faculty and staff to acquire and manage sponsored program funding and thereby support SSU student success (retention graduation/graduation/job entry) and engagement of SSU faculty and students in grant-funded research, curriculum enhancement. and service programs.
Primary duties are to coordinate post-award grant management and compliance processes to ensure that these functions are performed on time and in compliance with USG, University and funding agency requirements.
Records management for funded programs. Maintains sponsored program files and records in compliance with federal and state requirements.
Technical/administrative assistance for grants management functions (time and effort reporting. summer pay approvals, no cost extension requests, programmatic reports, processing of new awards and amendments).
Maintaining compliance systems to ensure effective control and accountability for the University’s Institutional Review Board
(IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use (IACUC), Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training, Financial Conflict of
Interest, Radiation Safety, Research Misconduct. etc. Works with the Chairs of the IRB, IACUC and Radiation Safety Officer.
As required, duties will include pre-award support and office administrative and outreach support including procurement, travel arrangements, scheduling and conducting grant training workshops, and preparation/updating of office newsletters and website.
Performs other related duties as required.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (business, English, communications, STEM, etc.)
Three or more years of demonstrated experience in program or office administration.
Excellent organizational and document/file management/maintenance skills; interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written); time management and attention to detail; computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
Willingness to grow through experience and training and to participate in a team environment.
Background check required.Preferred Qualifications
