Executive Policy Assistant - Center for Children and Families

Requirements

The Executive Policy Assistant provided research and administrative support to the work of the Center For Children and Families (CCF) and administrative, research, and scheduling support to the executive director of CCF. S/he plays a key role in organizing our annual conference and maintaining CCF's mailing lists. Supporting the organizational structure of a growing and busy center by planning staff meetings and strategic planning retreats, the Executive Policy Assistant has additional duties that include but are not limited to:
  • Serves as CCF's lead organizational person in providing meeting and conference logistical support, maintaining the master calendar and filing systems, and providing general office support, including being part of a two-person team with primary responsibility for CCF's annual conference held in July.
  • Provides administrative support to CCF's Executive Director by tracking down research and publications, and scheduling and coordinating meetings.
  • Coordinates and manages CCF's mailing lists, list serves, and e-mail communications pieces (including newsletters, alerts, and/or notices).
  • Assists executive director and policy staff with Medicaid and CHIP specific research with efficiency and attention to detail based on candidate's existing experience with health policy.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • 1 year post-bachelor's experience and several years of internships and undergraduate professional experience
  • Interest in substantive work of CCF in particularly Medicaid and CHIP
  • A high level of competence and commitment with interest in health policy
  • Basic administrative specialist skills
  • A wide range of administrative, communications, and administrative management skills for the Center for Children and Families
  • Meeting organizing experience preferred
