Advertised Job Summary

Assists in the daily operations and services of the USC Library Annex. Process materials arriving at the Library for permanent storage. Process patrons and departmental retrieval requests. Conducts refiles of all returned loans and electronic delivery items. Operate and maintain Annex equipment. Assist with all daily operations and services of the USC Library Annex. Serve as backup for all Annex duties and services to include electronic document delivery. Report daily statistics. Assist with projects assigned by the Library Annex Manager. The employee receives both written and verbal communications concerning departmental procedures and policies. the employee must use discretion and judgment in order to determine the order and importance of daily tasks. Ongoing good communication between employee and supervisor(s) and other staff is necessary. A strong candidate will have experience with word processing, Excel, data management software, online library software, e-mail and internet.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

High school diploma and 2 years library experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with high density storage software, III Millennium, IllIad and other library systems preferred.


Ability to analyze job duties and select best way of accomplishing individual tasks. Ability to work independently as well as a team, and demonstrate initiative. Ability to troubleshoot.
