Clinical Assistant Professor/Academic Fieldwork & Capstone Coordinator in Occupational Therapy

Appointment: Full-time, clinical line position to start Fall 2020

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a doctoraly-prepared occupational therapist to lead coordination of experiential learning for our program, including our doctoral capstone experiences and fieldwork level I and II. Other responsibilities include teaching content in an area of expertise in a Master of Science entry -level occupational therapy program with plans to transition to the OTD Fall 2020. Teaching in a post-professional clinical doctorate program may be included, depending on the expertise of the successful candidate.

Preference given to those with expertise in the following areas:

  • Administration
  • Supervision
  • Program Development
  • Fieldwork supervision
  • Clinical teaching
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clinical sites and community organizations

Prior experience teaching in an OTD program would also be valued.

Standard teaching assignment is three units per semester and will include administration, classroom teaching, and preparing community fieldwork educators and capstone collaborators. There will be some travel to fieldwork and capstone sites as part of this job. Other duties are continuation of professional development, advising students, supervision of graduate collaborative evidence projects, doctoral research projects, and participation in department and university governance.

Qualifications:

Candidates must meet the following qualifications, PhD, equivalent research doctorate, or post-professional clinical doctoral degree, five or more years of professional experience, have or qualify for a Washington State Occupational Therapist license, and have a commitment to liberal arts education. Candidates who are near completion of a doctorate (must be completed by Fall 2020) will be considered. Teaching and research experience are desirable.
