Health Team Medical Coordinator

Position SummaryThe Health Team Medical Coordinator is an experienced professional with extended knowledge on sexual and relationship violence in a medical context, general knowledge of Violence Against Women Act, Clery Act and Title IX. This position works within a team of seven specialists to create a campus network of programs for all employees and students at Michigan State University. This position has a specialized focus of creating and implementing training for the MSU Health Team staff and faculty will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Creation of relationship violence and sexual misconduct training content for MSU Health Team and other applicable employees/volunteers including online and in-person formats
  • Working with Health Team representatives to ensure compliance of required training
  • Generation of compliance records and annual reports
  • Provide support to trainees, including FAQ section of the POE website
  • Coordinate communication and outreach efforts to raise awareness across campus of training requirements and upcoming deadlines
  • Remain up-to-date on research, policy and best practices relating to online learning of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute campus-wide awareness and prevention events.
  • Work collaboratively with campus and community partners
  • Represent POE in response to requests from other departments and community partners
  • Workshop facilitation and training experience
  • Experience developing, implementing and assessing programs.
  • Organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and successfully handle multiple projects
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in public health, social work, nursing, psychology, or related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in planning and overseeing seminars and conferences including public relations, organizing and disseminating training materials and information both written and web-based; budget and records maintenance and computer support; experience in supervision, database, spreadsheet, word processing, desktop publishing, knowledge of HTML programming and website development and management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired QualificationsPreferred master’s degree in public health, social work, nursing, psychology, or related field; preferred experience in prevention education and delivering training on sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking; knowledge of relevant federal policies, including Title IX , Clery Act andHIPAA; solid understanding of diversity, general social justice issues, and intersectionality; generalized knowledge of medical practice and terms; experience working and navigating in a health care system; ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion, sensitivity, and neutrality; ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations; strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently as well as collaboratively; computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
