Job Description:

Jefferson Community College, Watertown, NY, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) System, is conducting a search for a full-time, tenure-track Early Childhood instructor to begin January 2020. Responsibilities include teaching 15 contact hours per semester which may include evening, off campus, weekend, hybrid, and/or on-line classes. Committee work and advising are expected.


Required: Master's degree in in Early Childhood Care or Associate and/or Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood with Master's in closely related field; professional work experience in early childhood field.

Preferred: Understanding of, and ability to work within, the evolving field of early childhood and childhood education; experience working in early childhood administration, certification to teach at the Birth-grade 2 or Birth-grade 6 levels; documented understanding of NAEYC standards; background in working with community agencies; familiarity with instructional technology; strong written and oral communication skills; experience working with diverse populations; experience teaching in an online and/or hybrid format; an understanding of community college philosophy.
