Adjunct Assistant Professor, English as a Second Language/English for Academic Purposes (ESL/EAP)

Instruct students, part-time, in one to three multilevel EAP three-credit hours courses: Speaking/Listening, and/or Writing/Grammar, and/or Reading/Vocabulary. JCCC is seeking a pool of qualified candidates for possible temporary part-time teaching assignments. These positions are filled as needed and are on-going recruitments.

Required Skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of a commitment to the mission of a comprehensive community college
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Required Experience
  • Master's degree in English, TESOL, Linguistics, or a closely-related discipline with a minimum of 18-credit graduate hours in TESL

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience teaching adults English as a Second Language in a classroom setting
  • Prior teaching experience in an academic setting
  • PhD and community college teaching experience
