DESCRIPTIONThe Department of Medicine (DOM) is the largest department within the UCSD School of Medicine and is responsible for fulfilling the teaching, research and clinical missions of the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. The department employs approximately 500 salaried faculty, 168 academic appointees, 331 residents, fellows and postdocs and 480 staff personnel.
Under supervision, incumbent will perform standard repetitive laboratory experimental procedures that require technical scientific knowledge and skills to do tissue culture, in vitro experiments, and tissue sectioning and different staining as part of ongoing arthritis research.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSGraduation from high school or a GED and one (1) year of laboratory experience or two (2) years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong organizational skills and experience with lab safety regulations
Ability to adhere to Environment Health & Safety guidelines.
Demonstrated knowledge of immunohistochemistry.
Demonstrated knowledge of tissue sectioning.
Proven experience working in a research setting.
Knowledge of cell culture and functional assays including cell proliferation, cell invasion and cytokine quantification by ELISA.
