Position Description:
Under the general supervision of the MSO, the Business and Operations Analyst provides administrative and fiscal support to the manager and the administrative staff of the Bunche Center for African American Studies. Major duties include posting submitted time reports, facilitating personnel transactions, analysis, reconciliation, and financial reporting of operating funds, reviewing payroll and general expense ledgers, pulling reports from online CDW/COGNOS, handling gift card processes for grant projects, managing surplus property transactions, utilizing the Purchasing and Accounts Payable (PAC) system for processing purchasing and low value orders, handling facilities request, maintaining accounting and personnel files, maintaining equipment and property records, maintaining keys and key issuance records. Duties also include assisting the MSO with new hires, monitoring spending on contracts and grants, management of the IAC research grants and correspondence with the IAC and extramural grant recipients regarding grant budgets and spending, handling travel arrangements and reconciliation, identifying potential problems and working to resolve the issues, and preparing internal financial reports. This position also supervises and recruits student assistants and work study students, and completes special projects as needed.
