The MBA & MSx Programs at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) seeks an experienced business professional to serve as Associate Director, Strategy & Curricular Support. The primary focus of this role is to conduct and continue evolving strategic analysis of the student experience. The candidate needs to have proven experience analyzing and translating data, both quantitative and qualitative, to relevant business metrics and actionable information. The Associate Director will also serve as an academic advisor to a cohort of MBA Students, guiding them to meet the Program requirements.
The successful candidate will have successfully influenced decision making and delivered positive outcomes to an organization through meaningful quantitative analysis. The candidate needs to have strong critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills, and data analysis experience. The candidate will have the ability to gather data from disparate sources, synthesize data, perform statistical analysis as needed, and visualize data to identify trends and make recommendations to stakeholders. Analyses include the use of pivot tables, formulas such as vlookup, and charts, as well as tools like Tableau, Hyperion, and Salesforce. The candidate will possess excellent communication and presentation skills to share findings and recommendations with faculty, staff and students.
The academic advising portion of the position involves working collaboratively with the team of academic advisors; developing in-depth knowledge of GSB courses and degree requirements; curriculum structure; faculty and student issues and needs; policies, processes, and resources of the MBA Program and the GSB; and academic and student services throughout Stanford University. Advising responsibilities include fielding questions and feedback, explaining and upholding academic policy, and maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism. Student advising responsibilities will in turn inform approaches to quantitative analysis projects.
JOB PURPOSE:
Administer, implement, and interpret university and department policies and procedures to the student experience. Identify, clarify, and resolve highly visible or complex issues with substantial significance and impact that may span multiple areas, using expert technical and professional knowledge requiring independent judgment.
Your primary responsibilities include:
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
- MBA preferred.
- Advanced communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and all levels of management.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to review and analyze complex information.
- Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google G Suite.
- Advanced customer service skills.
- Relevant computer systems/technology experience.
- Understanding of financial transactions.
- Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
