The Institute for the International Education of Students (IES Abroad), the leader in the field of study abroad, seeks a strategic, dynamic, financially astute, and entrepreneurial leader to serve as its next President and Chief Executive Officer.  As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, IES Abroad bridges cultural gaps and educates students to become global leaders through premier study abroad and internship programs. Since its founding in 1950, IES Abroad has distinguished itself through its commitment to academic excellence, and the quality of the student experience. This relentless commitment to quality and focus on its mission has made IES Abroad one of the largest, most reputable, reliable, and financially sound providers in the industry, with an Academic Consortium comprised of the nation’s most prestigious colleges and universities, and partnerships with leading universities around the world. The next CEO will join IES Abroad at a propitious moment and will be expected to provide vision and leadership to a highly respected and multi-faceted enterprise with a rich history, bold aspirations for the future, and a talented global staff and distinguished international Board of Directors.

The President and Chief Executive Officer will report directly to the non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Board of Directors. From study abroad and internship programs for U.S. and international college students, to one-of-a-kind, customized experiences designed with university staff or faculty, the President & CEO will work with the Board to shape the strategic direction and ongoing success of IES, while maintaining IES Abroad’s dedication to excellence.  The CEO will be expected to be dedicated to preparing students to thrive in a global society, by leading the continuing evolution of IES programming in response to dynamic marketplace needs, by continuing to build and develop a highly motivated and talented global organization, and by ensuring organizational adherence to IES Abroad’s established, published standards, which have made IES one of the leading institutions in its field.
