To achieve the mission of the Alcorn School of Business as directed by the Vice President of Academic Affairs through the Dean of the School of Business as embodied in the strategic plan.
Successful candidate expected to provide exemplary demonstrations of teaching, research, and service, in undergraduate and graduate Finance courses within the sphere of expertise.
Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of the course competencies in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the learning environment, as demonstrated by university prescribed assessments. Provide education through learning-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the market place. Encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning and ethics, as well as, personal and professional development.Essential Job Functions
Teach in a synchronous and asynchronous environments (4 courses per semester), advise students, work with student organizations, conduct assessments of student and program learning outcomes; prepare for courses as needed. Demonstrate commitment to collaboration and collegiality, publish in refereed journals and provide service to the university and the community. Participate in faculty activities in preparation for continued accreditation and generally support the University and school assignments and functions. Work with ACBSP accreditation process.Qualifications
• Candidate should have a Ph.D. in Finance or closely related field from an AACSB international accredited university; ABD in related field.
• Candidate must have teaching experience and be able to support our teaching needs in the undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Demonstrates ability to publish in peer-reviewed academic journals & an active research agenda is required.
•Academic preparation and credentials to support the academic qualifications for teaching, research and publication in his/her area of expertise.
• Communication skills: Clearly conveys information and ideas to others both verbally and in writing.
• Student Focused: Creates and/or implements student-focused processes or procedures.
• Professionalism: Participates in all activities in a collegiate, ethical and responsible manner.
• Working knowledge of common learning management systems such as Banner and Canvas.
• Proficiency with standard office applications on personal computers
