Job Description Summary

Primary purpose of this role is to support the research activities of a specific School/Center. Under limited supervision, this position will manage the sponsored program funds from pre-award through post-award while working with Principal Investigators on proposal development, budget development and related pre-award requirements and submission for a diverse sponsor portfolio. The individual will also manage the post-award processes including monitoring and review of all charges, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of monthly financial reports for Principal Investigators. Consults with research faculty in the preparation of sponsored project budget and proposals; review proposals for compliance with sponsor and University policies and ensure Regulatory Affairs requirements are satisfied and that Conflict of Interest statements are submitted when required. Provides full accounting services, reconciling budgets, processing payroll, financial reporting; monitors grant expenditures for compliance with sponsor regulations and guidelines. This position reports to the senior administrator within department and has a dotted reporting line to the PSOM Office of Research Support Services.

Job Description

The Grants Manager will support the Mgr of Admin & Finance in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. The current grant portfolio includes

PCORI, federal, foundation and center grants. The duties will include: preparing financial reports and meeting with faculty on a monthly basis to review reports;

assisting in proposal preparation, developing budgets, and uploading documents in PennERA; processing subawards/MTA s and service agreements in RIS as well as

issuing purchase orders, monitoring and reconciling expenditures, identifying incorrect transactions and making corrections, monthly review of suspense and

anticipated resources accounts and processing correcting journals; review and approval of human subject clin card requests, grant progress reports, contribute to the

preparation of the annual PSOM budget and maintaining confidential faculty salary support allocations. This position has a reporting relationship with the Office of

Research Support Services in the Perelman School of Medicine.

This position is contingent on funding.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 5 years experience or equivalent combination of years and experience required.
