The University of Miami, UMH has an exciting opportunity for an Executive Director in the Emergency Services department at the UTower location. Working under the direction of the Associate Chief Nursing Executive Officer of University of Miami Hospital, the Executive Director of Emergency Services is accountable for providing leadership, operation direction, clinical quality and financial performance of the of the Emergency Service at University of Miami Hospital. He or she is charged with providing knowledge and experience within emergency service lines for strategic planning, developing and managing efficient patient flow systems that provide an excellent patient experience and achieving financial and operational targets. The Executive Director will participate in continuous quality improvement and compliance with all regulatory requirements, while supporting the mission, vision, values and strategic objectives of UMHC. The Executive Director is responsible for clinical professional accreditation and certification requirements & standards, and regulatory requirements for both service lines. Responsibilities include fiscal planning, management accounting, patient accounting, budget and audits, cost reduction, disbursements, personnel management, space planning and management, inventory control, general administration and coordinating with Medical Directory and other physicians. He or she will demonstrate commitment to assessing and planning for effective and efficient patient flow throughout the hospital. The Executive Director has a 24 hour, 7 day per week accountability of the service lines and participation in Administrative on-call duties as needed or required.

Minimum requirements for this position include: Bachelors Degree in Nursing required. Masters degree preferred or in process to be completed within 3 (three) years. Executive Director, Nursing Experience: Minimum 7 (seven) years of relevant experience. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Knowledge of business and management principles. Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others. Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others. Valid Florida RN license required. BLS, ACLS certification required. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
