Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

A person in this position will serve as the primary advisor for students at the University of Georgia applying to allied-health (e.g., physician assistant, anesthesiology assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc.) and nursing schools. The position involves advising students on the allied-health and nursing school application process, coordinating with other UGA units that advise and support students applying to allied-health and nursing school, and coordinating programs and events to support students with an interest in applying to allied-health and nursing school.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Thorough knowledge of the requirements and process for gaining admission into allied-health and nursing school. Knowledge of course offerings and requirements of a specific area of academic study, especially those related to allied-health and nursing school admissions requirements. Effective problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with office staff as well as colleagues in other units on campus. Knowledge and competence in computer skills. Ability to apply original and creating thinking to develop and improve methods and procedures. Ability to develop and deliver presentations to various groups on campus.

Assists students by answering questions on options, procedures, timetables, requirements, and deadlines for allied health and nursing school requirements.
