Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

The Coordinator collaborates with 4-H public service faculty and administrators to enhance performing arts programs statewide in order to provide more students access to the diverse programming opportunities in Georgia 4-H. Primary responsibility is the coordination of the Georgia 4-H performing arts team, Clovers & Co.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Ability to supervise children ages 9-18. Knowledge of positive youth development principles and practices. Knowledge and skill in coordinating logistics. Ability to manage volunteers. Knowledge and/or experience in performing arts disciplines required. Working knowledge of Georgia Standards of Excellence and other classroom requirements/school-based policies and practices.

Physical Demands

Work will include weekend work and long hours. Able to lift 20 pounds of performance equipment or supplies.

Serve as the primary contact for Georgia 4-H performing arts programs (Clovers & Co. and Clovers Etc.). Advise State 4-H Leader/Director of 4-H on matters impacting performing arts programs and projects including vocal, drama, and dance, instrumental, piano, and other performing arts.

Recruit and manage volunteers that assist with the 4-H performing arts program. Work with volunteers to plan and implement shows and individual performances. Coordinate volunteers to store, inventory, pack and transport equipment and supplies needed for performances. Assists in securing professional judges for performing arts competitive events.

Establish the annual show schedule, including selection of venues. Secure musical scores, sound and lighting equipment, costumes, refreshments, and other needs for shows and other performing arts events. Communicate with 4-H participants and their parents/guardians regarding requirements for participation as a Clovers & Co. member as well as provide information regarding show schedules, expenses, and other expectations, including website and social media updates.

Insure supervision of 4-H’ers during performances, auditions, rehearsals, and other gatherings. Maintain code of conduct, medical information, transportation, and other forms required by Georgia 4-H. Insure that UGA and Georgia 4-H risk management policies, protocols, and practices for minors on campus are observed at Clovers & Co. events including auditions, rehearsals, performances, travel events, and other activities.

Provide periodic reports and maintain communication with Georgia 4-H State Event Coordinator and Associate State 4-H Leader regarding logistical needs and changes in the program. Advises and plans for marketing and promotional needs to support the program.

Submit timely deposit and expense reimbursement requests to Georgia 4-H Foundation. Assists in seeking donor support for the program and performance sponsorship.
