Post-Doctoral Fellow

A full-time POSTDOCTORAL POSITION for a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD is available in the laboratory of Kristen Demoruelle, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to study unique cellular phenotypes in the peripheral blood and lung associated with rheumatoid arthritis (RA)-related autoimmunity, with a particular focus on aberrancies of neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation. S/He will join and be a key member of a research team that includes experts in RA-related autoimmunity, lung mucosal immunology and translational studies. 
 Job Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of this position will include, but will not be restricted to, the performance of techniques involving cellular processing of blood and sputum, identification and analysis of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), immunofluorescence staining and imaging, flow cytometry, cell-based activation systems and ELISA-based antibody testing.

Qualifications

Required education/experience/skills(minimum qualifications):

PhD, MD, or MD/PhD, strongly desired tobe a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to training grant fundingopportunities.

 

Desired qualifications:  A strong background in immunology, meticulousattention to detail and accuracy, good interpersonal skills, strongorganizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, anda desire to pursue an independent academic career.
