The Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs is seeking a full-time Program Director of Marketing and Special Events. This position is responsible for the day-to-day direction, implementation and management of college-level marketing and communication initiatives, media relations, website content development and maintenance, and event planning. 


The position develops and implements internal and external communications, marketing activities and other promotional efforts, develops content and manages the college's website, manages social media channels, develops media for the college and supports goal-oriented department and program content and media. This position serves as the liaison between the college, university communications and media relations, and university marketing. This position also serves as the college's photographer.


Examples of Work Performed:  

 

Marketing, Communications, Media Relations


  • Develops and implements marketing strategies. 
  • Provides advice and implementation support to the college departments and programs regarding marketing and media projects.
  • Creates and designs marketing materials (print and digital) for events, various activities and programs, including flyers, brochures, posters, invitations, announcements, mailings, email campaigns, etc.
  • Develops and posts content on social media, posting college news, activities, and events.
  • Promotes college activities, news, and events through social media, email, website articles, press releases, flyers, videos and/or advertisements; internally and externally.
  • Works with the college student clubs, faculty and staff to ensure all communication and marketing materials follow UCCS brand and style guidelines.
  • Develops content and engagement strategies for the college website(s) and social media channels.
  • Updates and maintains the college website content using the campus web content management system. Assists with website page creation.
  • Monitors and corrects website problems to include broken links, images, etc.
  • Ensures site aligns with the University brand strategy and meets University Web and Accessibility Standards.
  • Creates and distributes student recruiting material.

    Event Support

    • Directs the planning, organization, coordination, implementation and evaluation of alumni and community events for the college.
    • Supports college event management utilizing content/customer management systems, such as Salesforce and event management and communication tools like Marketing Cloud and Cvent. Rolling annual events include, but are not limited to, Fall/Spring College Assemblies, new faculty/promotion reception, award/recognition ceremonies, and Trek the Trail 5k,.
    • Collaborates with UCCS Events and Scheduling and UCCS Marketing.

  • Salary Range: $53,000-$62,000

    This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

    QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, communications, or closely related field. 
    • Two or more years of work experience in public relations, marketing, communications, or closely related field. Must include published print and digital pieces, and social media utilization. A Master's degree in public relations, marketing, communications, or closely related field may be substituted for one year of work experience.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Two or more years of experience in a higher education setting
    • Experience providing both full-cycle planning and coordination of events, as well as experience providing logistical support for events in an administrative, project management or customer service role
    • Experience providing photography
    • Experience with community outreach
    • Experience with event and program development
    • Background in social media and graphic design
    • Experience with a content management system
