Job Summary: The Marketing Strategist works within the Division of Strategic Communications to support the division's contribution to the University's strategic plan.

Additional Department Summary: The Marketing Strategist works within Strategic Communications to support the division’s contribution to the University’s strategic plan. The position will provide tactical marketing support, including but not limited to administering data in MS Excel and data visualization tools such as Data Studio and Power BI, creative problem solving, providing oversight of paid campaigns on mainstream social media platforms and contributing to the implementation of SEO best practices. The Marketing Strategist will manage contract workflow, acting as liaison between Strategic Communications and media vendors. This position will work collaboratively to plan and execute marketing activities for specific client groups.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: This is an entry-level position and previous professional experience is not required. Only applications that include a portfolio of work samples will be considered.

Skills and Knowledge: Copywriting, editing, proofreading, excellent oral and written communication skills, fluency with business computer use and industry-relevant applications, managing social media and reporting outcomes. Candidates must demonstrate experience effectively producing content, performing editing and proofreading, working as part of a team and meeting deadlines. Knowledge of professional writing styles will be important as candidates must be able to master AP and UA Editorial Style. Candidates must demonstrate strong competence and creativity in writing, editing and proofreading copy by presenting a strong portfolio of publication and/or writing samples.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience writing marketing copy, creating campaign-related hashtags, executing e-mail campaigns, coordinating documentation for payments, managing corporate social media identities, and web content management.
