Job Summary: The Vice President provides senior level management, leadership, administrative, and fiscal oversight to the assigned areas.

The Vice President for Student Life serves as the senior student life administrator, reporting directly to the President of the University. The Vice President will work jointly with students, faculty, and staff to create and maintain a climate that fosters student learning and development while enhancing a strong sense of community for UA students. The Vice President serves as a strong advocate for students and staff members within the division and advises the President on topics related to student development and engagement. UA is seeking an innovative and high-energy leader preferably with experience at a comprehensive doctoral-level institution and/or experience in a senior level position in Student Life. The Vice President should possess conflict management and resolution skills, a keen attention to detail and context, the ability to engage staff in learning and development opportunities, the ability to manage multiple high-level priorities simultaneously, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree or the equivalent terminal degree and at least 10 years of progressive leadership experiences at a college and/or university.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

The responsibilities for the Vice President of Student Affairs are to provide leadership, administration, and advocacy for the division and for students and represent the institution to both internal and external stakeholders.

Experience working with external stakeholders and cultivating strong relationships is necessary. Proven budget management, strategic planning, and goal achievement are also essential as well as strong communication and public speaking skills.

Demonstrated commitment to expand multicultural knowledge, awareness, and skills as evidenced through: demonstrating self awareness; understanding and valuing others; demonstrating knowledge of social inequalities; interacting effectively with a diversity of people; fostering equity and inclusion and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications: Progressive leadership and supervision at a comprehensive doctoral-level institution and/or experience in a senior level position of Student Affairs is preferred.
