The Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering at Clarkson University invites applicants to apply for the position of Director of Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Laboratories.
The Laboratory Director will be appointed as a teaching-track Assistant Professor in the Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering department with a pathway to promotion to Full Professor on the teaching-track.
The primary responsibility of the chosen candidate is to teach and conduct undergraduate laboratory classes that support the Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering programs. It is also expected that the candidate will contribute to departmental research activities, with a particular focus on undergraduate education and be involved in departmental activities. Responsibilities will include developing timely undergraduate unit operation experiments, preparing instructional material, ensure safe operations, upgrading laboratory equipment, hiring and supervising student workers, purchasing laboratory inventory, and overall management of laboratory inventory and personnel.
Minimum qualifications include a PhD degree in chemical engineering or related area. Practical experience with hardware, data acquisition and analysis software is expected. The applicant is to be proficient at teaching. The desired candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability.
Experience with common chemical engineering unit operation in addition to the minimum requirements.
