Appointment: Regular, 0.868 FTE position. This is a 10 month position that works full-time during the academic year, August 1 - June 1. Position Summary: The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner provides direct service in primary medical care to students in an ambulatory care clinic. Diagnose, treat and prescribe medication according to scope of practice. Counsel and educate patients regarding health issues.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Within scope of practice, provide primary medical care to students, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and management of general medical problems
  • Provide patient education regarding physical and mental health
  • Oversee and support the student medical assistant program
  • Collaborate with other CHWS members
  • Consult with staff and parents about health and medical issues of students when appropriate and with written consent from the student
  • Monitor CHWS web page for updates
  • Maintain accurate and complete electronic medical records
  • Participate in Division and other University meetings, projects, and committees
  • Maintain continuing medical education units as required for license
  • Review and write protocols and policy for CHWS medical treatment
Qualifications:
  • Baccalaureate degree (masters degree preferred)
  • National board certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), family or adult practice
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Washington
  • DEA license
  • Two or more years of experience in primary care, including patient education, college setting experience preferred
  • Ability to exercise a considerable degree of independent judgement and action
  • Experience developing and implementing a variety of programs and outreach services
  • Understanding of and appreciation for student affairs field
  • Commitment to liberal arts education

Compensation and Benefits: Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.The pay range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 annually depending on experience.
