Developmental/Transitional English Instructor

Job Responsibilities

To provide developmental, transitional, and/or curriculum English instruction primarily at the Greenwood, Laurens, and/or Newberry campuses; leadership, management, planning, and coordination in developmental, transitional, and/or curriculum English for the College. Includes instructional development, assessment functions to include program learning outcomes and student learning outcomes, student recruitment, enrollment and registration, student advising, and retention efforts for developmental, transitional, and/or curriculum English programs.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Faculty teaching associate degree courses designed for transfer to a baccalaureate degree: doctor's or master's degree in the teaching discipline, English, or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline, English). College teaching experience is desirable.

Additional Comments

Requires flexible work hours, day and/or evening classroom assignments on the main campus and/or at the county centers. Ability to represent the College. May require teaching using Distance Learning Techniques and the Internet. May require travel throughout the service area (possibly overnight) to attend workshops, training, or conferences. Some lifting is required.
